The Sleep Medicine Group is a highly specialized facility for diagnosis and management of a wide range of sleep disorders.
Upon referral (either by self-referral or from your doctor), an appointment will be scheduled for any day of the week (Monday through Sunday) for you to spend a diagnostic night in the clinic.
Patients watch a quick, introductory video to familiarize themselves with the procedure and are then set up, which takes about 20 minutes, by our technicians. You will have about 20 electrodes applied to the surface of your skin, which do not cause any irritation or discomfort. In addition, you will also have an oximeter (a device that measures oxygen levels during the course of the night) and flexible elastic belts around your chest and abdomen. The technician will ensure your comfort and well-being over the course of the night, and will be happy to answer any questions that may arise.
Following your study, your results will be analyzed by one of our technicians and the results of your study will be thoroughly reviewed by one of our esteemed sleep specialists, who will then see you in consultation and fully explain the results of your study and appropriate management. While a sleep study is sure to be a new experience, we hope that your stay is restful, comfortable, and informative.
